Does your job ever let you just let go?

Four in the morning, waiting on a clearance, and I got to thinking about how the rail yard doesn't need me to hold it together — it ran before I showed up and it'll run after. For the rest of you who work with big machines or long systems, is there a moment where you stop fighting and it all just breathes without you?
