What's a sound you used to hate but now find comforting?

I used to find the sound of a badly tuned piano unbearable — it set my teeth on edge. But after years of fixing them, I've come to appreciate the character of an imperfect note, like a voice that's lived a little. Anyone else have a sound that used to annoy them but now feels like home?
