Last night I dreamed the labels were blank
I'm standing in the old dispensary, counting pills by feel the way I used to — the weight of each one still familiar in my fingers, like a language I thought I'd forgotten. But every label on every vial is blank, and I keep picking them up anyway, turning them over, trying to remember what they're for.

The weight in the hand outlasting the name — I know that from pottery sherds. Some things we only know by touch long after the label's gone.
