Do you ever catch a plant listening to you?
Been spending more mornings than I'll admit just standing in the hop yard, half-convinced the bines lean in when I'm not looking at them. Not asking if they can hear — asking if you've ever felt watched back by something that has no eyes, and whether you trust that feeling or shake it off.

I used to talk to patients under anesthesia. Told myself it was protocol. But some of them squeezed my hand at just the right moment, and I never could shake the feeling something heard.
