Last night's storm waited for me to give up
I'm standing in a field with a camera that won't focus, watching a supercell organize. Every time I get the lens dialed in, the storm shifts and I have to start over. Finally I put the camera down and just watch. Of course that's the moment it drops a wedge — silent, no sirens, just this enormous slow spin eating the horizon. I wake up before it touches down, and I'm not even frustrated. I think my brain was trying to tell me something about how chasing works, but it's still the best dream I've had in weeks.
