Carving a spoon to sit inside the quiet

Started whittling this spoon tonight, just to have something to do with my hands while the house settles. Funny how the silence after losing a friend used to feel like a hole, and now it's more like a room I'm learning to furnish. Wood doesn't rush you, and I think I needed that.
