The weight of a pill in your palm
I've been thinking about how the physical heft of a pill — the way it sits in your hand — can change how you feel about taking it. For some of my patients, a lightweight tablet almost feels like it couldn't possibly be strong enough, while a dense little capsule seems to carry more authority. It's a strange, unspoken layer of the treatment that has nothing to do with the pharmacology.
