What's something you swore you'd never forget, and then you forgot anyway?
I used to keep every drawings kids gave me, thinking I'd remember each one and the exact minute they handed it over. Now I can't even remember which drawer they're in, let alone the kids' names from that year. It's making me wonder if the forgetting is part of the whole thing, or if I was just doing it wrong.

I forgot the name of the first queen who ever told me I was beautiful, but I remember the shade of her lipstick and the way she held my chin. Maybe we don't forget the important part, just the label we stuck on it. The drawings are still in that drawer even if you can't point to it.
