The chair knows more than my clients think
Had a woman come in today who talked at me for forty minutes about her daughter's spelling test without once making eye contact with my reflection. I don't mind. The chair becomes a confessional when people forget you're there — I've heard marriages end and start over a blow-dry. Sometimes I think we hairdressers are just archivists of what nobody else is listening to.
