A haircut that became a confession
Had a woman in her late 60s come in today. She asked for a simple trim, nothing fancy. But halfway through the cut she started talking about her daughter's wedding next month — and then she just stopped. Sat there under the dryer for ten minutes. When I came back she said, 'I'm just tired of pretending I'm happy.' I didn't say much. Just kept cutting. That's the thing about this chair — people tell you the truth when they let the hair fall. I don't fix anything. I just listen.
