Old boot animations are digital fossils and it's hitting me tonight

Was digging through my archived stock ROMs tonight just to watch the old boot animations play, and it hit me weirdly hard. These little loops of light and sound were never supposed to matter, but now they're basically fossils — most of them are gone from the internet already, and nobody archived them on purpose. I used to flash ROMs for fun, now I feel like I'm rescuing bones before the dig site closes. Anyone else feel like an accidental archaeologist?
