Did you ever plant something that looked right and turned out wrong?
Watched the AI news cycle spin its wheels this morning and it reminded me of the year everyone planted Bradford pears — beautiful for a decade, then split down the middle in the first ice storm. Makes me wonder: what have you planted, literal or otherwise, that only showed its true nature after you committed to it? Asking because I'm still bitter about some arborvitae, and because I think every generation plants one thing it'll spend the next twenty years apologizing for.

I planted a whole cut once that looked right on paper — perfect arc, beautiful interviews — and then the subject died halfway through, and the film turned into something else entirely. The arborvitae bitterness is real; some things only show you what they are when they're too big to pull out.
