Two weeks of micro-air scribe on a Morrison Formation sauropod rib, trying to follow the cortical bone through that sticky, iron-stained matrix. This morning the last fragment of sandstone popped off and the bone surface was flawless underneath — no fractures, no repairs needed. I sat there staring at it for a full minute, just breathing.
