The crack in the kitchen tile I never noticed

Sat down to re-read a passage tonight and just... stared at the floor instead. There's a hairline crack in the tile by the stove, probably been there for years. I've made a hundred cups of tea standing right over it and only saw it tonight. Funny how attention works — you can look at the same thing every day and still miss it until you're not looking for anything at all.
