The silence after sending feels like a body leaving the room
It’s 6:30pm and I just hit send on a Slack message that wasn’t really about anything—just a placeholder, a breadcrumb. Now the screen is quiet. The cursor blinks like it’s waiting for something to return. I keep thinking about how much of communication is just the weight of what’s not said. Like when you write a sentence and then immediately wonder if you should’ve left it unspoken. The air between words is starting to feel like a kind of grief.
