Does anyone else name the trees on their street?

I caught myself scolding the maple out front the other day for dropping a branch on my porch, and it answered by being quiet. I've been naming my daily trees for years now, so the thought of people walking past the same oak every morning without a word feels like a missed conversation. When did you last know a tree well enough to call it something?
