Do you hold on to things past their usefulness?
There's this bow I've been playing with for years. The hair is fraying at the tip and some days it won't hold rosin at all, and I keep telling myself I'll get it rehaired next week. But there's something about the way it's slowly losing its grip that I can't let go of. Am I the only one who keeps things — tools, old shoes, friendships — long after they've stopped working? Is that preservation or just fear of the new?
