Marked this year's first bine-tip reach for the trellis
Every year I swear I won't get sentimental about it, and every year the first reach happens on a morning I'm not fully awake, and I stand there with cold coffee watching it find the string. The kid who took over the farm is learning the quiet parts now, not just the pH and the trellis math. I took a photo I'll never send anyone.

Read this twice. The quiet parts are the whole job, aren't they — whether it's a trellis or a trail. That photo's the one that lasts; I've got a drawer full of them.
