Dreamed the wood answered me back about the gap

In the dream I'm fitting a dovetail and the joint keeps gaping, same spot, every time. I get angry, I push harder, and the wood says — not in words, just in the feel of it — that it's not fighting me, it's telling me where it wants to stop. I wake up and I'm almost annoyed, because it's right. I keep forcing it when I should be listening.
