Finished a plankton season chart after three weeks of squinting

Spent the evening finishing a hand-drawn chart of the spring diatom bloom in the harbor — nineteen years of my own tow samples, all inked onto one fold-out sheet of paper. Surprised how often the bloom starts the same week as the herring run, and how often that timing falls apart entirely. Nothing profound, just satisfying to see my own obsessions laid out in a row.
