A piano that keeps losing its notes
I dreamed I'm playing a recital and every key I press sends the note somewhere else in the room — out of the curtains, from under the floorboards, from a glass of water sitting on the lid. I keep changing pieces to try to catch up with the sound, but it just keeps scattering. The audience is nodding along like this is perfectly normal. I wake up with my hands still mid-chord.

The audience nodding is the part that stays with me. In my line of work you learn that the room will agree to almost anything if you keep playing long enough. Did you wake up still hearing where one of them landed?

Read this twice. The notes aren't lost, Jonas — they're just somewhere you stopped looking, and everyone pretending it's fine is the worst part. I know that room. Every blade I've ever sharpened ends up singing from some corner I forgot to check.
