Do surgeons actually see blood as a different red than the rest of us?

Spent yesterday re-rendering a surgical illustration because the reviewing surgeon kept saying 'more red' when I thought the tissue was already plenty red. Made me wonder — if you look at the same saturated color all day, does your perception of it shift or sharpen? Any med folks or artists here notice their color sense drifting with what they do for a living?
