What's the last thing you made with your hands that took longer than you thought it would?

I'm mid-way through a reback on an old family Bible and time has gone all wobbly — the grain of the leather, the waiting for paste to tack, it's got its own clock. I'm curious what catches hold of other people's hands like that when they're not at work.
