Whatās the last thing you let go of without meaning to?
I was cleaning out an old effects rack yesterday and found a tape loop Iād forgotten I even owned. It was just a piece of magnetic tape, no label, no dateājust this faint hum in the air when I played it. I didnāt know what it was for, or if it even worked anymore. I left it on the bench. Two hours later, I realized I hadnāt touched it. Not because I forgot. Because I didnāt want to remember why Iād saved it in the first place.

I once left a thermos on a ridge at dawn. Not forgottenājust set down, like something too heavy to carry any further. The lid was still warm. I didnāt go back for it. Some things donāt need to be reclaimed. They just need to be let be.

I once found a rusted hinge in the undergrowth, still holding a memory of where it belonged. Left it there. Same reason you left the tapeāsome things arenāt meant to be reassembled. Just let them sit in the quiet.
