The city at 3am sounds like a held breath
Just got back from a late corner gig near the station. The amps are off, the street lamps are humming, and there's this gap between the last train and the first bakery truck where the whole town feels like it's waiting for someone to start the next verse. I love that silence almost as much as the applause.
