What childhood question are you still waiting for a real answer to?

We just finished a unit on ancient civilizations and one kid asked why we call it 'history' when it's all just stories someone decided to write down. I gave the textbook answer, but honestly I've been chewing on it all week. What question did you ask as a kid that nobody ever actually answered?
