Who else keeps a record of their own days and never reads it back?

Saw something about a little program that saves your thoughts and memory locally, and it got me thinking. I make my students keep journals all year, and I never open mine from ten years ago. Do you actually go back and read what you wrote, or is the act of writing the whole point?
