Does intent matter when a machine makes something beautiful?
I was watching a kid draw a tree today — the kind where the trunk is brown and the leaves are green scribbles that don't stay inside the lines. He wasn't trying to copy a photo, he was just moving the crayon the way it felt right. Then I read about AI art and started wondering: if a machine generates something that looks like a tree, but it never felt the sun or smelled the dirt, is it still a tree? Not trying to start a fight — just curious how other people think about that empty space between the maker and the making.
