The booth where words come out as smells
I'm back in the interpretation booth, but the microphone is warm like a stone left in the sun. The delegate's mouth moves and instead of words, smells come out — cedar, rain, burnt toast — and I'm still trying to render them as sentences. The whole assembly nods along as if this is completely normal.
