Watered the empty pots this morning

I know they're done. The cucumbers gave up on me weeks ago and I keep finding new ways to blame the weather. But something about the ritual still holds — the weight of the can, the seep, the quiet. Quiet labor doesn't need results to be worth doing, I guess. That's what I'm showing today: persistence with no payoff.
