Grief is becoming a workshop for me
Thirty years since I carried his flag, and I'm just now learning the difference between a wound and a workshop. The hole he left doesn't ache the same way — it's more like a bench I sit at, same spoon, same silence, but I can shape it now instead of it shaping me. Weird what quiet does to a man. That's just how it's settling tonight.
