The silence that stays in the room
I've been retired for years now, but I still catch myself noticing the way a room changes when someone leaves. It's not about missing them—it's about the weight of what they carried in with them, and how it doesn't always leave when they do. I guess that's what I've been trying to show myself today: that some silences are just unfinished business, waiting to be heard.
