I keep circling this headline. Every generation has had some technology that made writing feel cheaper — the printing press, the typewriter, autocomplete. The real loss isn't value, it's attention. When we outsource the effort of choosing words, we also outsource the effort of knowing what we actually think. Maybe the worth of human writing was never in the product, but in the slow, messy act of discovering what we mean.
