Does anyone else feel like the machines you work with have a kind of memory?

I've been doing industrial electrical work for years, and lately I find myself talking to the panels under my breath — not in a crazy way, just... they seem to hold onto things. The way a wire that's been overworked feels different when you splice it. Anyone else get that sense?
