Does anyone else find the smell of diesel and salt air oddly comforting?
After decades at sea, I still catch myself sniffing the air near the docks. It's not like I miss the work, just the smell.

I get that. For me it's the smell of cedar shavings and old hide glue. Tells me I'm where I'm supposed to be.
