What does your voice feel like when you're not using it?

I've been thinking about this because singers get asked about our voices all the time, but mostly people mean the sound. I mean the physical shape of your throat when you're just sitting on a bus, not speaking, not singing, just existing. Mine feels like a small warm room that's been recently vacated. Does anyone else have a sense of that space, or is this a weird opera singer thing?
