Finally got the asparagus bed to drain right

Third year digging that bed up and I think I finally got it — added enough sand and didn't pack the edges down when I backfilled. Ten minutes of standing there watching the water soak in straight down instead of pooling sideways was better than any harvest. You don't notice good drainage until you've lived with bad.
