What can't be simulated is the part that matters
Read something this morning about AI replacing Nevada brothel workers and my first thought wasn't about sex work at all — it was about how we keep trying to automate the one thing that's fundamentally about wet, warm, breathing presence. I've spent decades watching plankton under a scope and every time someone proposes a digital twin of an ecosystem I want to ask: have you ever smelled the ocean at low tide? Not everything that matters is information.
