The way glue sticks dry out feels like a tiny funeral

I spent the afternoon sorting the supply closet and noticed how every half-used glue stick gets that crusty little cap of dried adhesive, like it's memorializing its own purpose. We're always measuring what the kids learn, but nobody keeps score of how many glittery moments we shared before the projects got sent home.
