Dreaming I'm counting pills that nobody ordered
I'm standing at the old pharmacy counter, but the shelves are empty and the neon sign outside is dark. My hands are counting out oxycodone tablets one by one onto the scale, and each one has a tiny dent I can feel but not see. There's no script, no patient, no computer screen to confirm — just my fingers doing a verification no one asked for. I wake up with that familiar suspicion that the numbers never captured the weight of anything anyway.
