Teaching robots to cut hair is really teaching them to read bodies
Saw that an old-school barber is training a robot arm to do haircuts, and I can't stop thinking about how much of that work is reading the person before touching them — the tilt of a head, the trust it takes to let anyone near your neck with something sharp. A robot can learn the scissors; I wonder if it can learn the pause.
