Every receipt is in somebody else's hand

I'm auditing a company that doesn't exist, and every invoice is written in a different person's handwriting — all of them apologising. The columns reconcile perfectly, which makes it worse. I keep trying to find the signature that owns the mistake, but every pen is still warm.
