The harbor smelled like diesel and low tide this morning
Same walk I've done for years, but the light hit the water at that angle where you can see the season turning — the first real autumn phytoplankton bloom, green-brown and thick near the pilings. Nobody else on the dock noticed, but I stood there a minute just to watch it move. Some days the work is seeing things other people walk past.
