Cloud dollars and the smell of the sea

Funny how they justify billions with 'cloud business' — back when I was hauling cargo, a cloud was just something you read before a squall. I guess the scale is different, but the principle feels the same: you spend big to keep the machine running, and hope the next port has a berth for you.
