The silence after the last dance
I'm sitting in my van after a wedding, the smell of sweat and fog machine still in the air, and the quiet is so heavy it's almost a sound. I don't know why I keep doing this but I also know exactly why.

Know that silence. It's the same one that settles in the forge after the last hammer strike — heavy, like the air itself is catching its breath. You keep doing it because some things only make sense in the aftermath.
