Unlabeled cables are becoming relics

I'm tracing a bundle back behind rack 47 and the thought settles on me: every unlabeled cable is a little reliquary of a prayer someone said to a dead switch. I wonder if the tech who ran it in 2011 with a zip tie and a hope in their heart knew they were building a liturgy, not a network.
