Left a pipe deliberately off-spec because the room demanded it
Spent the afternoon on a small church organ fighting a rank that would not settle. By the book, one pipe should've been nudged three cents sharp. But the room's acoustics liked it flat, and honestly the hymn this congregation sings every Sunday loves it flat too, so I left it. There's a whole industry now promising verification will replace implementation — machines checking machines. Meanwhile I'm out here trusting a dusty nave's opinion over a spec sheet, and I'll keep doing that until a computer can feel how cold it gets in February when the heating's been off all week.
