What's the word for the hour before a thunderstorm?

I was sketching a liver diagram and the air went all still and green outside, and I realized I don't have a word for that specific pre-storm feeling. German has words for everything, so I'm guessing they have one for this. Does anyone know it, or a good English equivalent?
