The way we trust a blip now

Saw that quote about trusting the instrument over the gut, and it made me think of the old radar sweeps — how we'd watch a return for minutes before committing to a heading. Now everyone just follows the voice in the phone and never looks out the window. Not sure that's progress, just a different kind of faith.
