You ever notice how silence has texture?
Been transcribing depositions where the long pauses are thicker than the testimony, and I swear a silent stretch between a lawyer's question and a witness's answer has a different feel than a silence after someone says too much. Am I the only one who can hear the shape of what's not being said? Or is that just the forensic-linguist brain rotting.
